Dr. Duane Spencer pens the newsletter as founder and headmaster of Grace Bible Preparatory School, which would later become San Antonio Christian Schools.
Dear friends of Grace Bible,
Another year of academic progress has come and gone with such great rapidity it hardly seems possible that our second graduating class is a reality. We have five 1971 Seniors, compared to two of last year. We pray for many more in '72.
This year has been full to the brim with exciting events, and one in which our choir and athletic teams have shown remarkable improvement. As our cheerleaders would say, 'The Lions are GRRRRREAT!' The spirit of the entire student body has been the best ever, and it has been a delight working with both faculty and pupils. As several of the older students have repeatedly said, 'This is the greatest group of teachers we have ever had!' To this I personally want to add a hearty 'Amen!'
It is my personal hope that it will be possible for the board of regents to find a full-time headmaster to direct the academic life of the school by next fall. My many church-oriented duties are making greater demands than ever before, and I feel that the school should have someone who can be 'on the job' all day, with energies toward building that important segment of our institution. Pray about that, too, if you will. Of course I shall look forward to continuing as the school chaplain, and regular chapel speaker.
Sincerely in Christ
Founder and Headmaster
